Lauren Rabinovitz is Professor of American Studies and Cinematic Arts at the University of Iowa. She is the author of several books on cinema and television, including Electric Dreamland: Amusement Parks, Movies, and American Modernity; For the Love of Pleasure: Women, Movies and Culture in Turn-of-the-Century Chicago; and Points of Resistance: Women, Power, and Politics in the New York Avant-Garde Cinema, 194-1971. She is interested in early cinema and in amusement parks and world’s fairs.
