Atlas 321

Shane was born in the iconic wine town of Sonoma, California. Since being raised in paradise nothing else will ever feel good enough, though he feels Boulder is a near second. He spent each year growing up rubbing shoulders with indie filmmakers at the Sonoma International Film Festival that his mother helped start. He will never forget being mistaken for Patrick Fugit when he was 16, meeting Sarah Jessica Parker, and John Waters. Shane is Wes Anderson’s #1 fan and his favorite movies are Asteroid City, The Life Aquatic, and The Darjeeling Limited. He has seen every Academy award best picture winner and does not always agree with the Academy.

His good judgement led him to study the culinary arts in Paris at Ferrandi-Ecole de Gastronomie, after high school. He completed his internship at Restaurant Kei, a 3 Michelin star Japanese-French fusion restaurant in the 1st Arrondissement. After moving back to the Bay Area of California he worked at the much-loved Zuni Cafe in San Francisco. Make sure to pick his brain about the world famous brick oven whole chicken bread salad. The excitement of the kitchen led Shane to eventually return to college part-time where he initially intended on studying Art History, then Urban Planning, then Finance and finally Accounting. This educational journey brought him through junior college in California transferring to the University of Montana where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

Shane and his husband spent 9 months working at a lodge in Grand Teton National Park, right on Jackson Lake. That experience in Wyoming taught him a big beautiful world existed outside of California, Manhattan and France. Since then Shane has travelled around America with his husband, and through these journeys Shane has learned that good food and people are everywhere, as long as you start with a little respect and no expectations. Shane was honored with a Max Bauchus fellowship where he was able to work with the Department of Transportation in D.C.

He has experience in accounting and financial administration at Iowa State University and is excited to be the Finance and Operations Manager at the CINE department at CU Boulder. Outside of work Shane enjoys knitting, among other things.
